Tax preparation for individuals, businesses and non-profits
Returns prepared by an IRS licensed Enrolled Agent who has already seen the books they are based on.
What this is
Prepared by someone licensed to defend it
Anyone with a preparer number can file a return. An Enrolled Agent is licensed by the IRS, has passed a three-part examination covering individual and business taxation and representation, and holds unlimited rights to represent clients before the IRS.
That matters on the day a notice arrives. Latonia does not hand you to someone else: she prepared the return, she keeps the books behind it, and she can take the matter up with the IRS directly on your behalf.
What you get
Individual returns, including returns with rental and investment income
Business returns for sole traders, partnerships, S corporations and C corporations
Non-profit filings
Prior year and amended returns
Returns built from your own books, not a pile of unexplained totals
Representation before the IRS if anything comes back
Who it is for
What makes a return go smoothly
The books were already right
When bookkeeping and tax sit with the same person, filing season is a short conversation instead of three weeks of chasing figures.
Nothing was left to April
Decisions that change the bill mostly have to be made before the year closes. Clients on tax planning already know roughly what is coming.
Someone can answer for it
If a letter arrives two years later, the person who prepared the return is still there, still has the file, and is licensed to deal with it.
How it works
Scoped and priced before anything starts
The first call is free and takes about twenty minutes. Latonia looks at your file and your last filed return, then comes back with a written scope and a fixed price. You decide from there. No hourly meter, and no charge for the conversation.

About tax preparation
Can you file for a prior year I never got around to?
Yes. Back filings are routine. If several years are outstanding, Latonia will tell you the order to deal with them in and what exposure you are likely looking at before anything is submitted.
Do I need to be a bookkeeping client to have my return prepared?
No. Plenty of clients only use tax preparation. Having the books in order first makes it cheaper and faster, which is why the two are often taken together.
I got a letter from the IRS. Can you deal with it?
Yes. As an Enrolled Agent Latonia can correspond with the IRS, represent you in an audit, and negotiate collections or a payment plan. Bring the notice to the consultation.
When should I get in touch?
Before January if you can. The queue between January and April is the longest part of the year, and most of the decisions that reduce a bill have to be made before the year closes anyway.
